Hello ladies
Let me introduce myself – I am Colette Hogan and I am your Ladies Golf Officer and also the secretary for EDGA too.
I started learning to play golf in January 2008 and five weeks later, I achieved a hole in one. I checked out with English Womens Golf Association (EWGA) to see if anyone did win a hole in one in the short span of learning and they published my story. They believe that it is possible that I may be the first player to achieve such a feat in history of both men and ladies.
I recently won the Open British Deaf ladies Golf competition in Chester last year and the day was great. I did not have an official handicap by then. So for ladies with handicap from 0 to 36+ they can always play.
I am a member for Preston Golf Club and I hope to mark three cards very soon to start play in their competitions in 2011.
EDGA wants to encourage more Deaf ladies to take part in our competitions and join in training – you do not have to be a pro! I am setting up a new competition for the first time since 1990s, for ladies to enter at EDGA National Championship in Washington, Gateshead, North East England in 2011. Please check out ‘Competitions’ for prices and details. We want to see you. Do come and join us!
If you are interested in taking part, please contact me at colette.irishsmile@gmail.com
Ladies – if you want to know what is happening, or want to add your name to the mailing list for newsflashes, please let me know.
Any ladies with a handicap or not, are very much welcome.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Colette
